Three generations, one common goal!

To produce top-quality wine that reflects the varietal and character typical of our wine-growing area.

Wines
Quality

Statera means balance. At our winery, the word Statera represents a guide and concurrently, a challenge. We strive to find balance not only in all aspects of winemaking but also in life in general. In the vineyard, we are looking for a balance between traditional grape production and new technologies that enable minimal use of protective agents,  contributing to the final quality of the grapes and the preservation of natural diversity.

A story of three generations

TRADITION

Statera family wine estate dates back to the second half of the 20th century, when the solid foundations of our viticulture and winemaking were built. With love and effort, Viktor Kotolenko, the originator of our viticulture story, and his wife Terezija began to grow the first vines of various varieties, including Welsh Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Furmint, Chardonnay and Yellow Muscat.

Our story
Wines

In the vineyard, we look for a balance in each variety and aim for the harmony of the wine, which represents the perfect balance of lively acids, gentle alcohol and mild sugars.

Statera Rosé2022
Rosé, produced from the Pinot noir variety, is a fresh and drinkable wine. The Pinot Noir grapes for Rosé are picked at lower altitudes, as we want to obtain the optimal sugar level and sufficiently high acidity, mainly due to the delicacy of the taste and freshness. Residual sugar and lively acidity intertwine in a perfect balance that will please anyone who wants pleasant refreshments on a hot summer day. The aromas are reminiscent of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries, and spicy notes can also be detected. It is served chilled to 6 - 8 °C. It goes well with salmon, lobster and various cheeses.

Statera Muscat2022
Semi-sweet yellow muscat is a common choice for lovers of sweeter aromatic wines. It requires high, southern positions and light soil. Similar to rose hips, we pay more attention to the quantity of the crop, mainly due to the size of the bunches. It is a fresh wine with lively acidity, which is enriched by light floral and citrus notes and the aroma of nutmeg, and we can also find the aroma of lemongrass and peach. It is served chilled to 8-10 °C, preferably on its own as an aperitif or with dishes from Asian cuisine.
More
Statera Furmint2022
Furmint is a variety that we are particularly proud of in the Haloze wine-growing region. The rapid onset of vegetation and late ripening are its characteristics. Since it has large grapes, the most important task for the quality of the wine is the thinning of the crop. It has a medium-full body with a pleasant freshness and a mineral juicy taste. The aroma is reminiscent of citrus fruits , pineapple, white flowers, and herbal notes can also be found. It is served chilled to 8-10 °C. We offer it with seafood, salads, but also with poultry.

Statera Pinot Gris2022
Grapes of Pinot Gris is red-blue in color, which shows up as a gentle copper shade of wine. It is a medium-bodied wine with a pronounced varietal aroma reminiscent of ripe lemon, ripe pear, tropical fruit and dried fruit. A slightly higher level of alcohol makes it even fuller and richer, so we recommend it with more spicy dishes. It also pairs well with pasta, shellfish, soft cheese and pork. It is served chilled to 8-10 °C.

Statera Sauvignon Blanc2022
Sauvignon Blanc is a popular variety among fans of young, fresh wines. We pay particular attention to optimal weaving and airiness of the leaf wall. The choice of harvest date is also very important . It is medium-bodied with lively acidity, and the taste convinces with its freshness and minerality . It is characterized by an intense varietal aroma in which plant and tropical aromatics intertwine, which is why we can recognize notes of passion fruit and gooseberry. Sauvignon Blanc is a suitable accompaniment to fish and seafood, and it also goes well with asparagus. We offer it chilled between 8-10 °C.

Statera Gewurztraminer2021
Gewurztraminer is an aromatic wine with a specific aroma of lychee and dried rose petals. Work in the vineyard is particularly demanding due to the short internodes , which causes dense growth and, without consistent thinning of the saplings, less ventilation and illumination of the bunches and leaf walls. With the right approach, we can produce top-quality grapes, but the contribution per cane is very small (only approx. 1 kg). We also find tropical aromas and a spicy note. It goes perfectly with foie gras, it can be served with desserts or on its own.
More
Statera Riesling2020
Europeans would say the king of white wines . It requires a marly soil and good weather during the ripening period. A slightly longer maturation of the wine in the cellar and later in the bottle expresses its full potential. Even slightly overripe or already slightly botryticidal (noble mold) grapes contribute to its quality. More complex aromas of honey and dried fruit, including figs, are formed.
